Eunorau NEW-TRIKE 2.0

The Eunorau NEW-TRIKE 2.0 is a three-wheeled electric trike, and that is the whole point of it. With two wheels at the back it stands up on its own at a stop, at walking pace and while being loaded, so there is no balancing, no foot down at every light and no wobble when a heavy bag goes in the back. The riding position is upright and supported rather than sporty: a well-padded saddle with a backrest whose height adjusts, and a seat-to-ground height adjustable between 32.7" and 40.2" so mounting can be set to suit the rider. A 48V 500W hub motor sits in the front wheel and is rated at 80 N.m of torque, which is what gets a loaded trike moving from a dead stop and up a grade without drama. Eunorau's own product content states the system can peak above 750 watts in short bursts for hill climbs and harder acceleration; the motor's rating is 500W, and the peak figure is a momentary ceiling, not a continuous output. Top speed is listed as 20 mph with the speed limiter engaged. Behind the seatpost is a 48V 20Ah lithium-ion pack built with Samsung cells, positioned low and central so the weight does not upset the trike's balance, and a built-in switch on the battery cuts power flow when the trike is parked or stored. Published range is 60 to 100 miles, and a charge takes 4 to 6 hours on the included US-standard 2.0A smart charger. Where any given ride falls in that window comes down to load, terrain, assist level and how much throttle is used.

A trike does not lean into a corner the way a bicycle does, so turns want a lower speed and a wider line than a two-wheeler, and that is more pronounced with cargo aboard. Stopping is handled by a hydraulic system on 180mm discs, with levers carrying a motor cut-off sensor plus a parking brake to hold the trike still during loading or dismounting. Assist runs off a cadence sensor across five levels, with a half-twist throttle alongside it and a Shimano 7-speed shifter on a 14-28T freewheel for the rider's own gearing. Cargo goes in an extra-large rear alloy basket with a solid wooden base, deep enough for a full grocery run. Both the main frame tube and the telescoping stem fold, the stem on a quick-release clamp, so the trike packs down for a garage corner or a vehicle. The 6061 aluminum frame rolls on 20" x 3.0" Innova tires, and the bike carries an LED headlight, a brake taillight, aluminum pedals, a 46T chainring on 170mm forged alloy cranks, a quick-release seatpost clamp and a Eunorau BC182 LCD display.

Eunorau states the system can peak above the 750 watts that defines a low-speed electric bicycle under US federal law, and the 20 mph top speed is a limited setting rather than a hard mechanical limit, which means the configuration the machine arrives in is not necessarily the configuration it stays in.
