The Renogy 220/400W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel Suitcase is a foldable solar panel that sets up in about a minute, giving campers, RVers, and emergency preppers high-wattage charging wherever they park. It plugs neatly into portable power stations for simple backup power and can also charge 12V battery systems through a suitable charge controller.

The panel uses a fiberglass-reinforced build with an ETFE surface coating, which keeps the weight down to 15.87 lb for the 220W model and 30.2 lb for the 400W model while improving weather resistance. Aluminum kickstands prop it at an angle to the sun, and IP68 solar connectors plus an IP67 or better rating help it shrug off rain, dust, and humidity. Compact cell layouts push cell efficiency to roughly 23%.

Choose the 220W panel on its own for lighter setups, or the 400W panel bundled with a Rover Li 40A MPPT charge controller for a ready-to-connect battery charging package.

Is the solar suitcase waterproof?
It has ip67-rated protection against dust and temporary water immersion (up to 1 meter for 30 minutes), and its etfe coating and fiberglass reinforcement add weather resistance for rain, snow, and humidity.
What batteries can the 400w panel charge?
It can charge 12v lithium-ion, sealed lead-acid, flooded lead-acid, and gel batteries. renogy recommends pairing it with a suitable mppt charge controller, such as the rover 40a.
How much energy can the 400w panel produce per day?
Up to about 2000wh in optimal sunlight, with roughly 1600–1800wh per day being typical in real-world conditions, depending on sun intensity, panel angle, weather, and season.
Can i connect it to my rv?
Yes. connect it to your rv battery system through a suitable charge controller, ideally an mppt controller, and follow the connection guidelines to keep warranty coverage.
How many batteries should i pair with the 400w panel?
Renogy recommends one or two 12v batteries of 100–200ah each, with lithium batteries offering better performance and longer life.
How long does the panel last?
With proper care, renogy expects about a 10-year lifespan, maintaining 80% or more of its original output over that time.
