The Renogy 400W 12V Complete Solar Panel Kit with 2.4kWh Batteries is a ready-to-build off-grid power system sized for mid-size to large camper vans, garden sheds, and weekend cabins. Instead of piecing together panels, a controller, storage, and an inverter from separate listings, everything arrives pre-matched so a DIY installer can go straight to mounting and wiring.

Four 100W N-Type panels feed a Rover 40A MPPT charge controller, which charges a pair of 12V 100Ah batteries for roughly 2.4kWh of stored energy. You can choose between deep cycle AGM batteries or smart lithium iron phosphate batteries with built-in Bluetooth and self-heating. A 2000W pure sine wave inverter turns that stored DC power into household-style AC, so the kit can run everyday appliances and electronics away from the grid.

The N-Type cells hold up better than standard cells when part of the array is shaded, and the panels tolerate vibration, which makes them a good fit for vehicle roofs. Fuses, branch connectors, adaptor cables, and battery interconnects are all part of the package, keeping the build safe and straightforward.

What does this kit need to work as a full off-grid system?
Nothing extra for the core system. it already includes the solar panels, a charge controller to regulate current, batteries to store the energy, an inverter for ac power, and the adaptor and tray cables that connect everything.
What is the difference between off-grid and on-grid solar?
An on-grid system is tied to the utility grid, while an off-grid system like this one stores the energy it produces in batteries for later use, so it keeps working during grid outages.
Can i add more solar panels to the rover 40a controller?
Yes. panels can be added in series or parallel as long as you stay within the controller's limits: 40a maximum charge current, 100vdc maximum pv input voltage, and 520w of solar input at 12v (1040w at 24v).
Do i need an inverter to run household appliances?
