Product Description

The Renogy 50W Flexible Solar Panel is a thin, lightweight panel designed for surfaces where a rigid glass-and-frame module won't fit, such as the curved roof of an Airstream, a van, a boat, or a teardrop trailer. It can bend up to 248 degrees to follow the shape of the surface it is mounted on.

Advanced polymer materials keep the weight to just 2.87 lbs, about 70% less than a conventional panel of the same wattage, and the laminated panel is only about a tenth of an inch thick when laid flat, making for a low-profile, nearly invisible installation. Despite its slim build, it is tested to withstand wind loads up to 2400 Pa and snow loads up to 5400 Pa.

For mobile use, Renogy specifies mounting the panel with silicone structural adhesive on the back side; the grommets are intended only for stationary installations. A local contractor can advise on the best installation method for your application.

Connect the panel to a charge controller to regulate current and a battery to store the energy. adaptor cables link the panel to the controller, and tray cables connect the controller to a deep cycle battery.

Can i walk on this flexible panel?

Renogy advises against it. standing on the panel concentrates pressure on a small area and can crack or damage it.

How should the panel be mounted on a vehicle or boat?
