The Renogy 800W 12V Starter Solar Panel Kit bundles eight 100W N-Type solar panels with a Rover Li 60A MPPT charge controller and the wiring, fusing, and mounting hardware an off-grid install typically calls for. It is aimed at RV owners and off-grid users who want a sizable, economical system that goes together without a long parts list.

With around five hours of direct sunlight, the array can generate roughly 3.5 to 4kWh per day. The Rover controller automatically detects 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V battery banks and uses MPPT tracking to pull the most usable power from the panels, while protecting the system from reverse polarity, overcharging, overloads, short circuits, and reverse current. The panels use multi-layer encapsulation, bypass diodes for better low-light performance, IP65 junction boxes, and IP67 connectors, and they arrive with pre-drilled frames and Z-brackets for mounting. A BT-1 Bluetooth module is included for checking the system from your phone.

What else do i need to complete my off-grid system?
This kit covers the panels, charge controller, cabling, fuses, and mounts. you will still need a deep-cycle battery to store energy, and an inverter if you want to run standard ac appliances.
How much power does this kit generate?
About 3.5 to 4kwh per day, based on 5 hours of direct sunlight.
Can i add more panels to the rover 60a?
Yes, within its limits: up to 150vdc input (at 25°c) and up to 800w at 12v, 1600w at 24v, 2400w at 36v, or 3200w at 48v. renogy suggests designing for about 90% of the rated voltage and current to leave a safety margin.
Should i wire the panels in series or parallel?
Either works with an mppt controller, as does a combination. series wiring adds voltage, parallel wiring adds current, so choose a layout that stays within the controller's input limits.
When do i need an inverter?
If you want to power household ac devices like a tv or coffee maker, you will need an inverter to convert the 12v dc battery power to 120v ac.
What does 12v in the kit name mean?
It refers to the battery system voltage the kit is suited for, not the panels' actual output voltage, which is higher than the system voltage.
