The Renogy Workshop Solution (5.12kWh) is a complete solar power package for workshops, garages, and sheds where you want dependable electricity for tools and equipment without relying on the grid. It brings together solar panels, lithium battery storage, a charge controller, an inverter, and the wiring and safety hardware needed to put them together.

Four 100W N-Type solar panels harvest an average of about 2kWh per day and feed a Rover Li 40A MPPT charge controller. The energy is stored in two self-heating 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries, providing 5.12kWh of capacity to keep tools running over several days. A 3000W 12V pure sine wave inverter converts that stored power into AC at better than 90% efficiency, delivering power that behaves much like a wall outlet.

A 500A combiner box keeps all the main connections organized for a cleaner installation, and the included fuses add protection throughout the system. The batteries are designed to be wired in parallel for this 12V setup, and their self-heating function switches on automatically when the battery temperature drops below 41°F (5°C).

Can the two 12v 200ah batteries be wired in series for 24v?
The batteries themselves can be connected in series or parallel, but this solution is built around a 12v 3000w inverter, so they should be wired in parallel for this setup.
How does the battery self-heating work?
Heating starts automatically when the battery temperature falls below 41°f (5°c) and stops once it rises above 50°f (10°c).
Does this solution support can communication?
Can communication requires the renogy one core and compatible connection accessories, which are not included.
How much solar energy does the system collect?
The four 100w panels harvest an average of about 2kwh per day, depending on sunlight and weather.
Why might the panels produce less than expected?
Output depends on sunlight intensity, temperature, and weather. indirect sun, heat, clouds, and dust or dirt on the panels all reduce production.
