The Scott Aerator Skyward Fountain for small residential ponds is a ½ hp surface fountain with a two-part spray: an outer cone of water that spreads 30 feet across, and a center jet that shoots up through the middle of it to 20 feet. The combination gives a small backyard pond a full, wide display rather than a single narrow plume, and the pattern height can be adjusted at the nozzle.

That nozzle is machined entirely from brass and is adjustable, so the proportions of the display can be tuned on site instead of being fixed at the factory. Behind it sits a stainless-steel submersible motor that runs oil-free at 3,450 rpm on single-phase 60 Hz power, moving 50 gallons per minute. Because the motor needs no oil and no control box, installation amounts to setting the unit in the pond, anchoring it, and connecting power. Three-phase and 50 Hz versions are available.

Moving water continuously does more than look good. The fountain lifts water from below and spreads it across the surface, which raises dissolved oxygen and keeps the pond circulating instead of stratifying. Scott Aerator builds its fountains in Holland, Michigan, and this unit is designed for fresh and salt water alike, with no routine maintenance required.

The motor is ordered in either 115 or 230 volts. A 115-volt unit should be installed within 100 feet of the main breaker, and anything farther calls for the 230-volt version. A 70-foot submersible 12-gauge cord comes standard, with longer lengths available, and the 115-volt cord is supplied with a plug. Optional LED light sets in color-changing or Night Glo styles, in two- or four-light configurations, can be ordered with the fountain or fitted later. The circuit must be GFCI protected, and power should be cut whenever anyone is swimming.
